Getting Back Into It

 Dear Reader,

Today's entry will be something of a return to form, going back to my roots -- describing in detail what I've done today, with a dose of the wit and sophistication oneword readers have come to expect.

We will open, however, with a bit of a "previously on"

A Couple of Never-Before-Seen Photos from Yesterday

Yesterday started with the first meeting of the Hiking class. About seventy people were in attendance. About seventy people, and one dog. Someone came to the meeting with a very, very small toy poodle. Before I show you this poodle, I want to remind you, for no particular reason of this image.

In Search Of A Hot Pink Bitch Named Breakfast | Defector
I saw that little dog and my only thought was, "This hot pink bitch was named breakfast!!!"
So now, without further ado, a pastel pink bitch

Facing away, for anonymity purposes.

After the meeting, still feeling effervescent from the experience of seeing this poodle, I began walking toward the music building to get a little work done. When I was nearly to my destination, I passed by the architecture building and noticed a sign in front of it that I hadn't seen before. Some construction is planned, a "replacement" -- Oh, how exciting! Though I'll miss this big brutalist thing -- called the "College of Environmental Transcendence" --What now?
What kind of nonsense is this? I think to myself. Environmental transcendence... Is this yet another example of the early 70s coming back to haunt me? I look to the bottom of the sign ---
Before I continue, I'd like you, Reader, as an exercise, to think of the most comically evil collection of corporations that could sponsor a building on a college campus.
Are you ready?
Have you thought of them?
Let's take a closer look.

How many did you get right? Let me know in the comments below.

After my time on campus, I left to get my hair cut. As readers may know, I am no stranger to the impulsive haircut. My motto is When you look good in hats there's no such thing as a risky haircut!

I walk in, no appointment, armed only with a photo of Winona Ryder at the Golden Globes, and place my fate in my hairdresser's hands.

Midway through my haircut, she pauses to answer the store phone. I am left alone, in a black cape, with only the front of my hair cut. In that moment I realize, I could pull off the Gay Person Mullet if I really wanted to (I don't)

With that, I think I will end the "previously on." But, alas, there's no time to get into the episode proper! Another time!

Yours,

emilyjones (oneword)
